Learning Outcomes • Principles of a diversity sensitive curriculum • Developing an implementation plan tailored to participant’s school • Principles of diversity sensitive programme • Principles of valuing diversity in your school • How to build a diversity sensitive library • Getting to know visuals for usage in the classroom • Getting to know the cultural heritage of Berlin Tentative Schedule Saturday: Travel day Sunday: • Cultural educational activity in Berlin Monday: • Introduction and getting to know each other • Introduction to the course, the school, and the external week activities • Icebreaker activities using drama for trust and team building • Identification of needs and goals for each participant and relevant populations. • Brainstorming your own project • Presentations of the participants’ schools. • Principles of Diversity as an evolving concept Tuesday: • Primary and Secondary Characteristics of Diversity • Inclusion • Multiculturalism Wednesday: • Equity • Social justice • Creating a detailed diversity sensitive lesson plan. Thursday: • Diversity sensitive literature • Implicit biases • Responsibility • Finishing up the lesson plan • Brainstorming cross-curricular or school wide social emotional learning in your school Friday: • Course evaluation: round up of acquired competences, feedback, and discussion • Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance Saturday: • Cultural educational activity in Berlin Sunday: • Travel day
